Another loveLife Department tries Collegial Counselling. The monitoring team had their first team Collegial Counselling session on the 30th of March The session was electrifying to say the least.
The platform was conducive to all team players coming with suggestions in helping one team player deal with challenges they have had pertaining to their day-to-day duties. We had a three-day training held in the loveLife training room.
It was real fun even though it was a bit difficult the first day as we were taught about I-messages, and we had no idea what our trainers were talking about. It was then explained even deeper and we finally got the hang of things.
We also had the chance to explore a different world of Model tricks by conny, managing conflicts and using probing questions to get clients to open up and tell us more. There were fun times as well, like when we had to role play and test if we were able to use active listening. That was absolute fun and amazing how people actually hear what they want to hear… We then learnt the trick of summarising and paying attention to the important details, which shows the care and interest we have for Model tricks by conny clients.
We were taught to move away from Why-questions because they make people uncomfortable and they tend to make people feel that they are interrogated — making the client defensive and reluctant to tell their problems.
Thanks to loveLife for this experience, not only will we use it at the call centre but these are skills that we will be able to apply to everyday life as well.
